Single-phase-Split-phase-Motor
EEE
single-phase split-phase motor is a self-starting, single-phase AC motor that uses a starting (auxiliary) winding with a higher resistance and a running (main) winding with higher reactance to create a necessary phase difference between their magnetic fields, which generates the rotating magnetic field needed to start the motor. Once the motor reaches about 75-80% of its full speed, a centrifugal switch disconnects the starting winding, leaving the main winding to continue running the motor.
